UNIONVILLE BIA 2017 HIGHLIGHTS

2017 was an exciting year on Unionville Main Street! From Easter to Christmas, the street was bustling with activities for all to enj

The 48th Unionville Village Festival kicked off the summer season attracting thousands of people over two days.

The Farmers Market had a fresh new look giving residents the opportunity to walk into town and purchase fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese and more.

The Millennium Bandstand was transformed into an outdoor gymnasium Sunday mornings for the ever-popular Yoga In The Square.

“Unionville Presents” also had a very successful 9th season at the bandstand, presenting concerts every Thursday night through the summer.  Concert highlights included Elton Rohn, Hotel California, and wrapping up with Absolute Journey, the 100th concert!

Visitors coming to Unionville on the weekend were treated to numerous bands that played up and down the street on weekends giving local musicians the chance to show off their talents.

Canada Day weekend featured a variety of bands including the Kindred Spirits Orchestra, George Kash, Midtown and more. Families could catch a ride on a picturesque horse and carriage.

Car enthusiasts got to see their dream cars at the 2nd Annual Exotic Car Show in July. Unionville Main Street was lined with Porsches, Ferrari’s, Maserati’s and more!

It was music to the ears at this years Markham Jazz Festival that took place in August with three stages on non-stop entertainment.

Things were a little scary at the Millennium Bandstand in October during “Spooky Sunday”. Kids were entertained by Dan the Music Man and had the chance to do some crafts and get a handout.

Many residents came out to the cenotaph at Crosby Memorial Arena on Remembrance Day to pay tribute to those who fought for our freedom.  Nearly 20 organizations laid wreaths in their memory.

Santa was welcomed to town by a record crowd of people at this years Olde Tyme Christmas parade. Fifty entries delighted both the young and young-at-heart. Kids had a chance to visit Santa at the bandstand following the tree lighting ceremony.

And finally, if kids missed seeing Santa that night, they had the chance to see him the following two weekends at one of four “Breakfast with Santa” events held at various Main Street restaurants.

2017 was a great year!  We look forward to seeing you at more amazing events in 2018!
